Ildiko is a contemporary Australian painter who works primarily in portraiture. Born and raised in Sydney to Hungarian parents, she now lives and works in Lismore, Australia. She has been practising professionally since graduating from the National Art School, Sydney, in 1992.
Her work has been recognised in a number of national art awards, including the Eutick Memorial Still Life Award (EMSLA), the Hurford Hardwood Portrait Prize (2018), and the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize, where she was selected as a Semi-Finalist in 2019.
A significant milestone in her career has been her three consecutive selections as a Finalist in the Portia Geach Memorial Award—often regarded as the leading portrait prize for women artists in Australia—in 2018, 2019, and 2020.
